Dan-Inject Dart Guns Will Attend The 43rd Annual AAZV Conference October 22 to 28, 2011

Dan-Inject Dart Guns will attend the 43rd Annual AAZV (American Association of Zoo Veterans) Conference being held October 22, 2011 through October 28, 2011 in Kansas City, Missouri.

The exhibits are open the 26th and 27th. Dan-Inject Dart Guns booth number is 703. Please come by and visit!!!

We will again be sponsoring a darting competition this year. If weather permits, it is scheduled to take place at the Kansas City Zoo on Tuesday, October 25, 2011. The Kansas City Zoo is located in the heart of historic Swope Park at 6800 Zoo Drive, Kansas City, Missouri 64132.

The competitions are important because they help sponsor the International Conference Scholarship.

According to the AAZV, the conference will feature the following:

2011 AZA Annual Conference in Atlanta

Dan-Inject Dart Guns will be at the AZA Annual Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. We will be in booth 628. It will be held at the Georgia Aquarium & Zoo, September 12 to September 17, 2011.

Dan-Inject Dart Guns Will Attend the TDA Convention August 11 - 13, 2011

Dan-Inject Dart Guns will be at the Texas Deer Association Convention, August 10 – 14, 2011.

Anyone and everyone who has anything to do with whitetail deer should attend the convention. This will be the 13th Annual Convention and Fundraiser. It will be held in San Antonio at the JW Marriott SA Hill Country Resort and Spa.

Along with all the booths, there will be seminars and auctions.

I am sending you a photo of the first tapir captured with the Dan-Inject pistol. Everything was perfect and we are very happy with the way the pistol worked.

We have taught the local hunters (native indigenous and farmers) and men on the field how to use the equipment. They used to kill the tapir, but now are able to help in their conservation. They are the ones who have darted the tapir in the photo.

The Dan-Inject pistol comes in two versions. There is the CO2 Pistol and the Foot Pump Pistol. The Nativa Foundation has chosen to use the Dan-Inject CO2 Pistol for their work. Why?

• Pistols are smaller than rifles.
• They’re easier to hide from animals. Animals seem to be aware of equipment and care must be taken to avoid spooking your subject.
• You can place the pistol on your lap and use red dot technology (sold separately) to aim at the animal. In this way, your subject won’t realize there is a piece of equipment in use.
• It’s lightweight making it easy to carry on long hikes.
• You can shoot a dart up to 32 yards!

• The pistol is made of aluminum and stainless steel parts. It’s great for inclement weather, hot or cold, rain or snow.
• It comes with a manometer giving you total control over the release pressure allowing you to dart as close as 1 meter from the animal – humanely and efficiently.

Mike Ross Will Speak At The 2010 ZAA Conference

The Sixth Annual Zoological Association of America (ZAA) Conference is being held from November 10-13, 2010 in Lafayette, Louisiana.

ZAA’s Mission . . .
is to promote the responsible ownership, management, and propagation of animals in both private and public domains.

According to the ZAA mission statement,

• Protect and defend the right to own animals

This is the AAZV’s 42st (sic) Annual Conference.
